Three officials were deprived of their liberty after being caught transferring 1,700 liters of gasoline in the Marhuanta parish of the Angostura del Orinoco municipality.
Two of the troops are assigned to the Bolivarian National Army (ENB); and the third to the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
According to the information provided by the Public Ministry (MP), the procedure was carried out by military personnel, on July 7, when those indicated transferred the fuel in two vehicles, which were seen to be overweight.
Therefore, they were given a loud voice to carry out an inspection and it was learned that the 1,700 liters of fuel were distributed in various plastic containers.
The aforementioned were arrested and placed under the order of the Second Prosecutor’s Office of the first circuit.
The courts charged them with the crimes of aggravated smuggling, resistance to authority, improper handling of dangerous substances and materials, intentional delay or omission of duties, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The Second Court of Control of Ciudad Bolívar issued the custodial measure for the first lieutenant of the ENB, TM, 32 years old; for the assistant sergeant of the ENB, AA, 44 years old; and for the GNB’s third-class sergeant major, JS, 33.
They are detained in the Oriente Judicial Detention Center, known as “La Pica”, located in Maturín.
