SRF has announced its programming plans for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 next month.
The Swiss-German broadcaster SRF has revealed its broadcast plans for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. As ever Sven Epiney has been confirmed by SRF as the broadcasters commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest. Sven has been the commentator for SRF since 2008, having taken over from Bernard Thurnheer who provided commentary in 2007.
As part of its schedule, SRF has announced a number of Eurovision-specific programs around the contest. On May 10, before Semi-Final One a 50-minute special titled “The Sound of Marius Bear” will be broadcast on SRF Zwei from 20:10 CET.
Ahead of Semi-Final Two there will be a special edition of G&G – Gesichter und Geschichten featuring Amanda Nikolic, Tamara Cantieni, Luca Papini and Michael von der Heide who represented Switzerland at Eurovision 2010. The show will be broadcast on SRF Zwei from 20:10 CET. G&G – Gesichter und Geschichten returns on Saturday evening on SRF 1 with special guests Francine Jordi (Switzerland 2002) and Luca Hänni (Switzerland 2019).
SRF will be broadcasting Eurovision on the following channels:
- Semi-Final One – May 10 – SRF Zwei
- Semi-Final Two – May 12 – SRF Zwei
- Grand Final – May 14 – SRF 1
Marius Bear is representing Switzerland at Eurovision 2022 with “Boys Do Cry”. He will perform 4th in Semi-Final One on May 10.

Switzerland hosted the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 a contest that they won. Lys Assia won the first contest with the song “Refrain”, it wasn’t until 1988 that Switzerland would win the contest again. At the contest in Dublin, it was Celine Dion with “Ne partez pas sans moi” who beat the United Kingdom to victory by just 1 point. In 2021 Switzerland finished 3rd with Gjon’s Tears. This was Switzerland’s first top three result since 1993.
