Gil arrived in Caracas and was received at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía by the Vice Minister for the Caribbean of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Raúl Li Causi.

Alejandro Gil traveled accompanied by a government delegation that includes the Cuban ambassador to VenezuelaDagoberto Rodriguez.
