FURIOUS Stacey Giggs has accused ex Max George of cheating on her with his Strictly co-star Maisie Smith.

Stacey, 43, told a pal: “To see them dating publicly so quickly after I dumped him is like a dagger to the heart.”

Stacey Giggs also branded Max George a “lying dog” after The Sun revealed the Wanted star, 33, had taken 21-year-old Maisie on a romantic break in Crete.

Stacey told a pal: “Max cheated on me with Maisie. I asked him about her but he denied anything had happened.

“He said he was like an uncle to Maisie.”

“After everything I’ve done for him, I cannot believe he would be so rude and disrespectful. He’s a lying dog. I feel betrayed.

“I’m very shocked he could be so cruel and I don’t recognise the person he’s become. I think Max has become obsessed with fame.”

Stacey, ex-wife of Manchester United star Ryan Giggs, began dating Max in January 2019.

The following April their relationship became public and he moved into her £3.5million Manchester home.

Max and Stacey shared the home with her two children from her marriage to Giggs — currently on trial accused of assaulting his former girlfriend Kate Greville, which he denies.

Max, previously engaged to Michelle Keegan, said at the time: “I’ve never felt so strongly about anyone before.”

From September to December of 2020 he starred on BBC1’s Strictly alongside former EastEnders star Maisie. He came ninth while she was runner-up.

In March this year he and Stacey split after she became suspicious that Max had become close to Maisie during the Strictly tour, which began in January.

She took him back after a few days, with him insisting there was no romance. They remained together despite fresh rumours, but on July 25 Stacey kicked Max out again after becoming convinced he had indeed cheated on her.

On July 27 they met for dinner to talk and she said that they ended up in bed.

Stacey told the friend: “I confronted him millions of times about his closeness to her. But he always denied it.

“I had a gut instinct they were more than just friends.

“I dumped him because I thought he might be cheating. We split for a few days but Max would always beg to stay.

“He was using my former marital home like a hotel –  he would walk around like he owned the place taking selfies for his Instagram.”

“He’s a two-bit pop star and a fame-hungry man-child.”

Stacey believes that on July 28 —Max flew to Portugal, where he met up with Maisie and two other friends from the tour.

A British tourist, who saw them in Albufeira holding hands and kissing, told The Sun: “We got chatting and they said they were dating but that we mustn’t tell anyone.”

Stacey told the pal: “Eventually I had enough of his lies and constant need for attention and kicked him out of the house. But he seems to have gone straight off to Maisie.”

Stacey had been tipped off that the pair had been sneaking into each other’s hotel rooms during the dance tour.

She said to her friend: “I gave Max millions of chances. I even gave him one final opportunity to be honest — and still he said he wasn’t with Maisie and that he was in fact in Spain.

“First of all he wouldn’t answer the phone and blocked me.

“But eventually we had a big row and he called me fat and said ­Maisie was fitter.

“He was in denial. I told him I’d heard they were in Portugal but he still said he wasn’t with her and he was in Spain. He will use Maisie just like he used me.”

Max is believed to insist his relationship with Maisie began only after his split from Stacey.

But in February he told The Sun on Sunday he had bonded with Maisie during the Strictly tour.

He said: “There’s a couple of us who always get told off by bosses for messing around — we’re the naughty ones.

“It’s usually me and Maisie. We are the loud, boisterous ones.”

‘Happily flaunting his new relationship’

Last week Max and Maisie were seen kissing and cuddling in the pool at a five-star resort in Crete.

And onlookers told how the ­couple were “all over each other” during the flight from Manchester to the Greek island.

Both have since shared snaps from their getaway, but have not mentioned each other.

Max was engaged to Michelle Keegan in 2012 before splitting a year later blaming the actress, now married to Mark Wright, for his drink problem. 

Speaking to The Sun, Max explained: “I had a real problem with drinking too much and that was, without doubt, the downfall of our relationship.

“I was drinking more to forget the fact I was with someone who wasn’t making me that happy.”

Music industry PA Bobbi Aney then told a newspaper Max cheated on her when he got together with Michelle.

She said: “It wasn’t even that I was heartbroken over not having him any more.

“It was the fact he was happily flaunting his new relationship around while I was just the hidden person no one knew about.”

Max was approached for comment about Stacey’s claims.
