There were 3650 new reported community cases of Covid-19 in Aotearoa on Saturday.
There are 2618 new reported community cases of Covid-19 in Aotearoa, the Ministry of Health says – the lowest since February.
There are 15 people in intensive care and 557 hospitalisations. The seven-day rolling average of community case numbers today is 4302 – last Sunday it was 5441.
There are now a total of 1750 deaths confirmed as attributable to Covid-19, according to the ministry, which are deaths where Covid-19 is either the underlying cause of death or as a contributing factor.
Omicron cases began spiking in late February, hitting at peak at more than 22,000 new daily community cases on March 9.

Earlier in the week, Covid-19 Response Minister Ayesha Verrall confirmed the country would stay at the orange traffic light setting.
The 557 cases in hospital are spread over Northland: 26; Waitematā: 74; Counties Manukau: 62; Auckland: 62; Waikato: 75; Bay of Plenty: 19; Lakes: 10; Hawke’s Bay: 43; MidCentral: 12; Whanganui: 9; Taranaki: 5; Tairawhiti: 1; Wairarapa: 9; Capital & Coast 17; Hutt: 9; Nelson Marlborough: 6; Canterbury 76; West Coast: 4; South Canterbury: 14; Southern: 24.
