The Helsinki Wolverines will play host to the Kotka Eagles in this penultimate week of the regular season play as Finland’s Maple League winds down. The Wolverines need this win to try and get into a home playoff game, while the Eagles hope to play spoiler.
The Wolverines are coming off of a tough loss to the Seinäjoki Crocodiles last week putting them fourth in the playoff seeding. Quarterback Jabari Harris hopes fellow veteran RJ Long, former CFL Global Draft pick Sebastian Sagne, Martin Emos, Matias Tuominen, and running back William Young will score often today against an outmatched Kotka secondary.

Defensive backs Eric Irvin, Curtis Slater, and Darius Lewis match up well with the Eagles receivers. In the trenches, Helsinki’s defensive line features James Perrineau, Ville Valasti, Benjamin Egbudiwe, and Jonis Heikkinen, all should be able to make some plays today against an inexperienced Kotka offensive line.
Kotka had another tough outing, losing in a blowout last week to the Helsinki Roosters. However, one player to watch on this team is Peter Anderson. The two-way receiver and defensive back have been his way onto the highlight reel with spectacular plays each week.
