Due to the extended period of high temperatures, Elexicon Energy’s distribution system in the City of Belleville is being pressured to keep up with electricity demand. Residents are being encouraged to reduce their electricity use where possible to help ensure the system remains stable and avoid rotational blackouts.
The area of concern in Belleville is bounded (approximately) by: Station Street in the north to Bridge Street in the south, and Moira River in the east to Stanley Street and MacDonald Avenue in the west.
Some tips for residents to help reduce their electricity use:

- Unplug all non essential electronics and appliances
- Turn off all unnecessary lighting
