Havana, Aug 8 (ACN) Governments, solidarity groups, organizations and Cubans living abroad send messages of support to Cuba after the large-scale fire in the industrial zone of Matanzas province.
As reflected today on Twitter the Chancellery of the Antillean nation, the president of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali, sent a message of solidarity to Cuba as a result of the catastrophe.
The Barbados Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that that country is ready to help the Cuban Government in any way it deems necessary.
Likewise, the Foreign Ministry of Cyprus expressed its support for the people and authorities of Cuba, and especially for the firefighters and rescue teams working on the front line.

A statement by the Mexico-Cuba Friendship Group expresses its sorrow for the human losses that have occurred and its desire for the recovery of the wounded.
The group, belonging to the Chamber of Deputies of the Mexican Congress, highlighted Cuba’s solidarity in emergency situations, and urged the countries of the world to carry out cooperative actions to calm the fire.
Cubaminrex, the website of the Foreign Ministry, indicates that the solidarity association Cuba Si France also called on the international community to react urgently in support of the island and provide technical assistance to control the fire.
The statement points out that after more than 60 years of a severe and cruel US economic, commercial and financial blockade, the Cuban people and their government face new calamities, which require global support to overcome them as soon as possible.
The Solidarity Campaign with Cuba in the United Kingdom stressed that the island is not alone and thanked the countries that have promised support in the face of the complex situation.
Likewise, the Association of Beninese Trained in Cuba expressed its solidarity with the people of the largest of the Antilles
“Cuba is not alone in these difficult times, the members of our organization are with the brother people,” the text refers.
Cubaminrex reports that Cubans residing in Europe expressed their willingness to do everything in their power to support their country in such difficult times.
Through Twitter, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) shares the message of the Argentine organization Corriente Peronista Descamisados, which expresses its support for the Cuban people and regrets the damage caused by the disaster.
Last Friday, August 5, at the Matanzas supertanker base, a tank caught fire due to the impact of an electrical discharge, and later a second tank also began to burn.
With the support of teams from Venezuela and Mexico, this Sunday the fire of the first tank was contained, and work is being done to control the fire in the second, whose wall collapsed last night.
