Gerardo Zamora swept the municipal elections in Santiago del Estero and massismo retained the only opposition enclave – Up Jobs News

SANTIAGO DEL ESTERO.- Gerardo Zamora’s Civic Front swept the municipal elections throughout the province, with overwhelming differencesconfirming the hegemony of the president from Santiago, an ally of the Casa Rosada and who has governed this district since 2005. Of the 26 municipalities that went to the pollsthe strength of the radical-kirchnerist president he was left with 25. Serge Massafor its part, was able to celebrate a victory in La Bandathe second city with the most inhabitants in this province and located seven kilometers from the capital, hand in hand with Roger Nediani, candidate of the Renovating Front. Massa’s political space was ranked tonight as the second force in Santiago del Estero.

Except in the cities Capital, La Banda and Pinto, where the provincial ruling party led a single candidate, in the rest of the province the scheme of radical versus Peronist referents was repeated, but all within the umbrella of the Zamorist Civic Front. Regarding the last municipal contests, Peronism was able to recover important cities, where it had historically governed, but which had been snatched by radicalism in the 2014 elections.

In the provincial capital, participation was close to 70% and the engineer Norm Sources, radical and militant Zamorista, obtained his re-election as mayor with 46% of the votes. Far behind was the second competitor, from Together for Change, with 27% of the votes. The Renovador Front was in third place, with 9 points, while the Avoid Movement surprised by finishing in fourth place with 8% of the supports.

Zamora accompanied Fuentes last night in the official bunker, where he said that “these are not easy times for those who govern,” but that “municipalism has been strengthened.” He also saluted Nediani for the victory in La Banda.

The calculations that emerged at the last minute from the headquarters of the provincial ruling party indicated that in this electoral contest, throughout the province, Gerardo Zamora’s Civic Front rose this Sunday with 80% of the votes issued and that the Massa Renovation Front, hand in hand with its local referent, Paul Mirolowas consolidated as the second force, displacing Together for Change, which lowered its percentage of votes compared to 2018.

With these lapidary numbers, Zamora renews its local hegemony in times in which it added prominence as one of the exponents of the “league of governors”, holding the presidency pro tempore of the Great North. The radical K, for some time now, knew how to build a good dialogue with Massa, beyond the fact that the party of the Minister of Economy of the Nation is a staunch opponent of the Zamorist management in Santiago del Estero.

Roger Nediani, for the Renovating and Progressive Front, defeated in La Banda Abdullah, candidate of the Civic Front of Zamora, obtaining 45% of the votes and giving Massa his first electoral victory since occupying the Palacio de Hacienda. Together for Change came in fourth place in the city next to the capital.

“We have to win on Sunday, Pablito,” Massa said to Mirolo with laughter and in his ear last Wednesday, when the Bandeño went to greet him after being sworn in as Economy Minister. “We are going to give you the first joy,” was the response of Mirolo, who has been a member of the Renovador Front since its inception and who currently chairs Massa’s party at the national level. The Tigrense also took the former mayor of La Banda to the Transportation structure, where since last year he has been the vice president of Ferrocarriles Argentinos.

Sergio was dying to come to La Banda, but now is not the time to do itthat’s why he’s going to receive Nediani on Tuesday”, they told THE NATION from Mirolo’s surroundings. They added that Massa spoke about six times over the weekend with Nediani, who last night became the mayor of the second most important city in the province. In the late afternoon, the minister made public his congratulations to Nediani and Mirolo, reiterating the invitation.
