(CNN) –– Teams from the US Coast Guard and Border Patrol rescued 113 Haitian migrants from a boat that made landfall on Saturday near the Florida Keys, both agencies posted on Twitter.
A video released by the Coast Guard shows rescue boats approaching a sailboat packed with people wearing orange life jackets.
According to the tweet, crews moved people from the grounded boat to Coast Guard boats.
A photo shared by the Coast Guard shows the migrants jumping into the water and swimming towards a rescue boat.
Walter N. Slosar, Chief of Patrol for Customs and Border Protection (CBP), noted in a video that the rescue was a “national security mission”.
The migrants are in CBP custody, Walter said.
