“I swear to God and promise the people faithfully comply with the Constitution and the laws of Colombia”, specified the leader of the Historical Pact before the crowd, after receiving the position from Roy BarrerasPresident of the Senate.
After the new president was sworn in, Barreras invited María José Pizarro to put the presidential sash on the Cordovan. However, the congresswoman could not stand the emotion and broke down in tears in the middle of this symbolic act.

Then he added: “My heartfelt tribute to those who stayed on the road for this great fight, this is also for and for you. We are going to live the party of change throughout Colombia!”
In the publication, which quickly went viral on different social networks, it can be seen that the congresswoman used her father’s image to decorate the dress she wore during the possession.
It is worth mentioning that the ceremony had to be suspended for about 10 minutes after Barrera’s speech, since the new head of state ordered to bring the sword of the liberator Simón Bolívar.
