This Saturday, August 6, prior to the inauguration of Gustavo Petro as the next President of the Republic for the period 2022-2026, has been a day of ministerial announcements with which the country has known a large part of the officials who will accompany the leader of the Historical Pact at the start of his government and, as happens with everything that moves through this medium, criticism and congratulations did not take long to rain down.
Irene Vélez at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, María Isabel Urrutia at the Ministry of Sports, Alfonso Prado at the Ministry of the Interior and Gloria Inés Ramírez in the Work portfolio; were the names mentioned on this day, which join those of José Antonio Ocampo in MinHacienda and Luis Carlos Reyes in Dian, among others.
As always happens when a government begins, the names that are mentioned to be in charge of the different entities of the national government generate approvals and rejections in the different sectors of society, warning that each one speaks as their interests and beliefs dictate. Likewise, it is used to remember their past and any act that may be brought up.
Now, the latter was what happened to the appointed Minister of Labor, Gloria Inés Ramírez, who had a speech revived in which she firmly defended the political precepts of former leftist presidents such as Hugo Chávez (Venezuela), Rafael Correa ( Ecuador) and Evo Morales; of whom he even said, at that time, that he wished Colombia had benefited from his ideas.
Through his Twitter account, the representative to the Chamber for Bogotá and member of the Democratic Center, Andrés Forero, published a video in which Ramírez gives a speech about the three aforementioned characters and asks if the country is entering the path of “Socialism of the 21st Century”.
