Karol Cariola steps back. The communist deputy reacts to the offensive of the ANFP and the clubs alluded to in the designs that she exhibited on her social networks as part of the campaign for the I approve option in the constitutional plebiscite. Specifically, she announces that she decided to remove those graphic elements.
The parliamentarian clarifies that the creations do not belong to her. “The designs that the ANFP disapproves were made by the same fans that are identified by the Approval option. It is not my design, but rather a citizen effort that I was asked to spread and I did it on my personal accounthim,” he explains.
Finally, he gives an account of his decision and the reasons that motivate it. “Given the annoyance expressed, I have decided to download it”, slogan.
A couple of hours ago, the ANFP, together with the nine clubs that were alluded to in Cariola’s publication, issued a statement complaining about the use of soccer in political matters. The behavior is the same that the association had a couple of weeks ago, when the command of the I approve option spread images with a modified version, but perfectly distinguishable from the Selection.
The complaint was harsh. “In relation to the publication on social networks of the deputy Karol Cariola, the National Football Association (ANFP), On behalf of the aforementioned Chilean football clubs, we express our total disagreement with the use of the image and emblem of the clubs, relating them to political demonstrations”, said the body chaired by Pablo Milad, in relation to the images.
“We condemn the manipulation that deputy Cariola try to generate soccer fans for non-sports purposes, ”he insisted, pointing directly at the former student leader.
“The ANFP states that football is not a space for political campaigns and remember that FIFA, in article 4 of its statutes, declares itself ‘neutral in matters of politics and religion’”, he added.
In the same sense, Cruzados, the concessionaire that manages Universidad Católica, also expressed its opinion. “We respect all positions and diversity. Therefore, we do not accept that our image is used without authorization to represent any position regarding the Constitutional Plebiscite”, expressed the students.
