Less than 24 hours after taking office, the president-elect, Gustavo Petro began to uncover the cards of the last ten positions in his cabinet that remain to be filled.
This Saturday and through his Twitter account, the president-elect starred in a kind of “namethon” in which he announced the names of those who will lead four portfolios: the Ministries of Mines and Energy, Labor, Sports and Interior.
In the first portfolio he appointed the doctor in Political Geography Irene Velez, in Labor will be the former senator and trade unionist Gloria Ines Ramirez; in Sports will be the first Olympic gold medalist from Colombia, Maria Isabel Urrutia Y In Interior will be the former representative to the Chamber, Alfonso Prada.
These appointments were announced after two weeks of silence by Petrowho on July 22 had appointed his last minister: Ivan Velasquez in Defensewhich caused great uncertainty among the Armed Forces because, among other concerns, the incoming government has anticipated that there will be significant changes in this portfolio, such as the possibility of removing the Police from the ministry.

The others designations that are also fixed they are those of Education, which will be headed by Alejandro Gaviria; Agriculture, with Cecilia López; Environment, with Susana Muhamad; Salud, with Carolina Corcho; Culture, with Patricia Ariza; Treasury, with José Antonio Ocampo; and Foreign Affairs, which will be led by Álvaro Leyva Durán.
Nevertheless, he still needs to name the heads of several portfolios, such as those of Justice, Commerce, Industry and Tourism; Housing, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Transport and Science and Technology.
