The president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, withdrew more than 220 diplomatic passports, including those of several Ukrainian parliamentarians, for leaving the country in the midst of armed conflict with Russia.
According to the Ukrainian news agency UNIANthis measure comes after some of the beneficiaries of diplomatic passports have taken refuge in official business trips to leave the country.
According to the aforementioned agency, citing sources from the Telegram channel off-the-recordPresident Zelenski would have shown his anger at the trips of these parliamentarians, who would hide behind labor issues to carry out leisure activities.
One of the most notorious cases is that of Nikolai Tischenko, a member of the ruling Servant of the People party, who traveled to the Czech Republic to attend a charity gala. The news quickly spread and the parliamentarian received harsh criticism.
