Authorities from Cuba and Chile held this Friday the II Round of Conversations on Migratory Issues aimed at evaluating the flow of people between both nations and strengthening collaboration in this area.
According to the Foreign Ministry, this meeting was held virtually and was headed by Ernesto Soberón, general director of Consular Affairs and Cubans Resident Abroad, and Pedro Hernández, head of the Migration Division of the South American country.
In the meeting held in a cordial and cooperative environment, both delegations highlighted the importance of these dialogues and evaluated the implementation of joint actions to discourage irregular migration and illicit acts associated with this phenomenon and facilitate the movement of people safely, regularly and neat.
The I Round of Talks on this issue was held in February 2018, when a bilateral cooperation mechanism on migration was established.
