Havana, Aug 5 (RHC) Young Havanans highlighted this Friday the relevance of the Family Code and showed their willingness to say yes to the regulations in the referendum scheduled for next September 25.
Claudia Torres, a law student at the University of Havana, pointed out that the regulations approved in the IX Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament), in its IX Legislature, protect the rights of grandparents and other relatives .
It is the moral responsibility of Cubans, especially the youngest, to say yes to the law that provides rights for all family members and regulates limited issues in the previous legislation (1975), as it will contribute in the future to intra-family relationships more solid, it meant.
He said that the new Family Code expanded the communication of parents with respect to children, the protection of older adults and people with disabilities, and domestic violence against any of the members of the family nucleus.
This August 5 we celebrate love, peace and citizen tranquility, in the days prior to the 96th anniversary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz (August 13) and International Youth Day (12), he said.
Like Torres, other young people and children accompanied by relatives gathered at Parque 13 de Marzo, in front of the Museum of the Revolution in Havana, as part of the summer activities, an event that included the participation of the Committees Defense of the Revolution and the Union of Young Communists (UJC).
Danhiz Díaz Pereira, general secretary of the UJC at the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University of Havana (Cujae), urged to consult the Family Code and to disclose it so that all Cubans understand that they are represented in the norm.
Joining the Yes vote is what corresponds to us on September 25, because it is the Code of equality, integration and respect for diversity, emphasized the deputy to the Cuban Parliament.
The day of popular celebration in the Havana park began early this Friday with music, dances, book sales, among other options.
