The activities include street theater and book presentations, plastic arts and photography exhibitions, exchanges with relevant figures of the Cuban seventh art and music concerts in the streets, squares, parks and cultural institutions of the town.

In the 16th Edition of the Gibara Festival, nine recent films are in competition, 17 documentaries (between short and long), 11 fiction short films and seven animation films, from France, Algeria, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Norway and Cuba, among other nations.
