The Venezuelan producer added the talents of Maricarmen Regueiro, in the starring role of Natacha, and Hilda Abrahamz as Elvira, the villain of the story.

In 1998, Maricarmen Regueiro returned to Peru to star in “Things of Love”, also with Diego Bertie. In that story, Regueiro was Valeria Castro-Iglesias, a wealthy woman who one day meets ‘Chalo’ (Bertie), an employee of her father’s factory whom she will treat with contempt, but as the story unfolds she will become in his great love.

In an interview with “El gordo y la flaca” for “Cosas del amor”, Diego Bertie stressed that the soap opera allowed him to put together a good “human group”, although he also said that his relationship with Maricarmen Regueiro was only work-related and they failed to become friends. .

In 2001, a few years after the success of this telenovela, Maricarmen Regueiro would announce her definitive retirement from acting.

Regueiro achieved great notoriety after playing Daniela, a fifth-year student in love with her teacher, in “Princess.” In addition to acting in Peru, the artist was part of Argentine productions.

In August 1993, the name of the actress was linked to the judicial pages when her partner, Ramiro Helmeyer, was accused of participating in the 1993 Caracas Attacks. As the press reported at the time, Helmeyer was arrested, along with other top financial executives, accused of being part of a “terrorist gang that set off several bombs in the streets of Caracas,” according to Colombia’s “El Tiempo.” “The explosions forced losses in the Caracas Stock Exchange and, in a special way, in the international markets in which the prices of bonds that the Venezuelan State had for sale fell and that could be bought by the authors of the attacks,” said the official. quoted medium.

The actress’s partner was sentenced to 30 years in prison for allegedly being responsible for a car bomb that exploded in a Caracas shopping center. The artist supported him at all times until he was pardoned in 2000.

In 2001, Regueiro announced that he was retiring from the world of soap operas to dedicate his life to his family. She had been married to Helmeyer for four years and had recently welcomed her first child.

Currently, Regueiro continues to be devoted to her family. In one of her last interviews, she stressed her desire not to return to television. “I feel like I’m not going to get old acting. I love my job, but it’s absorbing. I wish to be calm and at peace,” she declared.
