The Olympic José Ramón Pelier won this Friday a ticket to the final A of the C1-1000 meters of the Halifax 2022 World Canoe Speed Championship, hosted by Canada.
In 4:10.75 minutes, the 21-year-old, king of the 2019 Pitesti World Junior Championship, Romania, completed the course. Only the Tokyo champion, the Brazilian Isaquias Santos (4:09.37) and the distance world record holder, the Czech Martin Fuksa (4:10.34), were ahead of him this time. The planetary dimension, held by Fuksa, is 3:42.385
“I knew that I had two of the best canoeists on the planet in my series and I complied with what was indicated by my coach (Yosniel Domínguez) to enter the title discussion,” said the pampered man from the city of Baracoa, in Guantánamo.
Serguey and Tabiani will fight in final B
This Friday the binomial of Serguey Torres and Tabiani Diéguez placed fifth in the C2-500 meter fight.
Time of 1:47.55 minutes made the Cuban boat, which allows him to be included in the final B of the contestWell, for Class A, where the medals are discussed, and for which the best three qualify by semifinal heat of the modality, in the championship that today is experiencing its penultimate day.
