Cuban Vice President Received Foreign Minister of Serbia – Up Jobs News

Havana, Aug 5. – The Cuban Vice President, Salvador Valdes Mesareceived at the Palace of the Revolution the Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovićwho is on an official visit to the largest of the Antilles.

As reported today by Cuban Presidencyat the meeting both authorities ratified the will to continue strengthening ties, just as 120 years have passed since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

Valdés Mesa expressed interest in strengthening trade and economic relations in such important sectors as biotechnology, drug production and tourism.

Likewise, he thanked the Government of Serbia for the support in the United Nations, for the resolutions against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

The vice president of the island conveyed an affectionate greeting from Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudezfor the Serbian people and authorities.

For his part, Selakovic described the meeting as a great honor and privilege, and sent the warmest greetings from the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, to the Cuban leadership.

Also participating in the exchange, on the Serbian side, were the Deputy Minister for Bilateral Affairs of that Foreign Ministry, Vladimir Maric; the ambassador to Cuba, Danilo Pantovic; the special advisor to the Minister, Ivan Jaksic; and the political advisor of the Serbian embassy in Cuba, Jelena Zivojinovic.

The Cuban representation was made up of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Josefina Vidal Ferreiro; the General Director of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ángel Villa Hernández; the director of Europe and Canada of the organization, Gisela García Rivera, and the official of that direction, Marla Cárdenas Figariel.
