The Superior Chamber of the Electoral Court determined that the head of Government claudia sheinbaum and the chancellor Marcelo Ebrard They violated the principles of fairness and impartiality in the contest by attending campaign events in the last electoral process.
Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard attended a proselytizing event on May 15 with the then candidate for governor of Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal.
“The existence of the transgression of the principle of impartiality and equity in the contest by Marcelo Ebrard is proposed, because according to his participation and the nature of the public office he holds, it is noted that he could generate undue pressure and influence towards the electorate, regardless of whether the event was on a non-working day”, states the resolution.
In addition, at the event he was presented as “Secretary of Foreign Affairs”, while some of his achievements prior to his use of the word were highlighted. “He did not limit himself to attending the event, but made use of his voice and made expressions of express support for the then candidate,” he indicated.
However, the non-existence of the use of public resources was declared, since there are not enough elements to prove that they were used to attend the event.
In the case of the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, it was determined that she also violated the principles of fairness and impartiality in the contest by attending an event with the then-candidate for the governorship of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama.
