Darío Martínez will no longer be the Secretary of Energy of the Nation. Although the rumor was circulating since the departure of Silvina Batakis from Economy, it was only confirmed on Thursday and this Friday it would be official. On Wednesday, her absence had caught her attention during the swearing-in ceremony of Sergio Massa as Minister of Economy, Production and Agriculture.
The news was in line with what was revealed by the presidential spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti, who assured at the Thursday press conference that “there would be news in the Energy Secretariat.”
Martínez had been a controversial figure in management. The passage of his secretariat into the orbit of the then Martín Guzmán had not changed his political landscape, despite the fact that it seemed to be the intention of the person who directed the ministry at that time. It also had no changes when it was Batakis who took overbut when its output was defined, the idea began to be reinforced that Massa would not leave that area under the same driver.
Yesterday’s reports already put Federico Bernal, director of Enargas, as his replacement. All this was reinforced by the Martínez’s absence during Massa’s act. On Wednesday, the leader of the Neuquén Justicialist Party (PJ) used his social networks to show agreement signatures.
With the governors of Catamarca, Raul Jalil, and Salta, Gustavo Saenz, he signed an agreement for the social rate as part of the subsidy segmentation. His other activity was with the mayor of the Pampas town of Telén, Saúl Echeveste, for an agreement to renew and expand the public lighting networks and the supply of electricity.
Martínez published nothing about the announcement made by Massa in relation to segmentation. The new minister informed that electricity consumption up to 400 Kv will be subsidized, reaching 80% of households and only 50% of total residential consumption.
Martínez’s efforts will now focus on Neuquén, where pretends to be the candidate for governor of the Front of Allput so that, so far, has no opponents.
