The member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Esteban Lazo Hernández Party, president of the National Assembly of People’s Power, toured this Thursday different neighborhoods of the Arroyo Naranjo municipality to exchange with the population and the delegates, and verify on the ground the march of the community transformation.
We must love and take care of what is done in the neighborhood for the collective benefit of all its inhabitants, beyond dwelling on pending personal situations, to which, as far as possible, we have also tried to offer a solution; recognize how much progress has been made in the midst of difficult circumstances in the world and in the country; and strengthen popular participation in each of the actions carried out, said Lazo Hernández during the tour.
On the day, he was accompanied by Marta Elena Feitó Cabrera, Minister of Labor and Social Security; Reinaldo García Zapata, Governor of Havana; among other municipal and provincial authorities.
In a meeting held with delegates from the Popular Electrical Council, the head of the Cuban Parliament insisted on the relevance of popular control, of demanding quality and the development of a maintenance program for the works carried out, of ensuring that commitments are fulfilled. on the scheduled dates with different alternatives, where the work of the delegates and the different factors of the community are vital.

Regarding care for people in vulnerable situations, Marta Elena Feitó stressed that employment constitutes the greatest protection for a physically and mentally fit citizen, and in the case of being young, options should be offered for incorporation into the study. Hence, she pondered the importance of having each of these cases identified at the community level and of providing, in the first order, job opportunities and improvement that can contribute to the family economy. These people could be offered the possibility of carrying out tasks in their own community, in correspondence with local needs and interests, the Minister considered.
Subsequently, Esteban Lazo toured district 90, of the Electric People’s Council, in order to verify, on the ground, several transformation actions carried out. In spontaneous dialogue with its inhabitants, he learned about the aspects that require alternative solutions such as the rehabilitation of roads, elimination of leaks, hygienic-residual treatment and the need for job offers for interested people who do not have a residence address in the capital; just as he inquired about the incorporation of the inhabitants in the response to their own problems.
In turn, he visited the medical office of this territory, where he urged not to neglect the health protocols before COVID-19 and to strengthen the prevention and confrontation of dengue, based on the permanent analysis of the epidemiological situation of the popular council, the realization of the focal work, the immediate attention of the cases and the sanitation strategy in the area.
Despite the complexities of the national scenario, a clear principle is not to stop at the work in the neighborhoods, with participation, collective contribution and creativity of the Havana people in this sense; aware of what we still have to do, but also how much progress we have made, said Reinaldo García Zapata.
Later, the President of the Cuban legislature debated with inhabitants and delegates, and toured different social works, in constituency 10 of the Moro-Portocarrero neighborhood, and in the Comodoro neighborhood.
In recent weeks, Esteban Lazo has visited other communities in Havana, such as the La Corbata neighborhood, in the Playa municipality; as well as La Güinera, in Arroyo Naranjo, and the historic center of Guanabacoa.
