Cubadebate continues with its Vale-No vale section to recognize, once again thanks to the comments and emails from readers, everything that is valuable because it improves our lives, develops the country or makes us better citizens, and also points out everything that is not worth and deserves to be changed.
We will frequently make this account of experiences, which can be expanded with your comments on this post or your mailings: [email protected]

Vale: The effort and dedication of our government for citizen tranquility.
It is not valid: That many people in the city put the music at high levels and damage the tranquility of their neighbors, who do not find the right way for that social indiscipline to be addressed. This creates a defenseless situation for families.

Vale: That the necessary works for electrical, water or gas installations or repairs lead to a necessary temporary break in the streets.
It is not valid: Once the works are finished, the gaps are never closed again, such as, for example, the hundred-meter trench in front of the Miramar Business Center (which is the responsibility of the electricity company) or the open trench from one corner to another in 19 and 28, Vedado, which has made that section impassable and whose responsible entity I do not know.

Vale: The work of Citma for the protection of nature.
Not OK: That sufficient and intentional measures are not carried out on the beaches, where the population continues to throw waste of all kinds on the sand and in the sea. There are no deposits on the shore, no surveillance, no fines.
In many public beaches in other countries there are simple measures that could be implemented, such as showers at the exit of the dunes so that the sand stays in place, deposits for waste, lockers, toilets, etc.

Vale: The intention declared by the State to improve hygiene and living conditions in disadvantaged neighborhoods and districts.
Not valid: That in the Sierra Maestra neighborhood, by the entrance of the “Celso Stakerman” Factory, Boyeros municipality, there are terrible conditions. For example:
1. At the distribution entrance (approximately 200 meters away) there is only one luminaire, in a faulty state.
2. Due to the unusual collection of garbage, there are waste dumps that remain for days.
3. The few public telephones remain broken for long periods of time.
4. There are discharges of sewage water that cause sewage lagoons (even a few meters from the doctor’s office, farm stalls, warehouse, butcher shop, etc.) that have contaminated the cisterns of some buildings for a long time.
5. There is a totally disabled park. In other words, the children have nowhere to play and there are no cultural or recreational activities in the cast.
6. Comparing with similar stores in the same territory, the supply of products is smaller and more spaced out over time.

Vale: That elderly people who live alone or with minor relatives declare themselves vulnerable, the same with pregnant women.
Not valid: That family members benefit from the vulnerable condition of people, by sending them queues. I think that if in the family nucleus there is only one adult, of legal age and healthy, that is the one who has to queue (no one in that nucleus should be considered vulnerable), the same for pregnant women.

Vale: That in the agricultural markets all the merchandise brought directly from the field be sold.
It is not valid: That the forklift drivers take the best merchandise that reaches the market, store it in private premises and then sell it at high prices, in a fixed place, when it was conceived to bring the products closer to the customers. An example is the General Li and Calzada market on October 10, where they have several stores on the same corner to resell, in view of all the products of that market. How long are we going to continue with these insensitive authorized resellers? That right now is doing tremendous damage to the population.
When we make complaints to those responsible, they tell us that the inspectors are in charge of applying the fines. Please, once again remove these criminals who are getting rich easily and you will see how the goods will last a little longer in the markets and people with less income will benefit.

Vale: Increase self-employment and private property in different businesses.
Not valid: That the population lacks information about the activities they carry out and the places where they live, in order to be able to use their services and products.
Okay: That all non-state business system make the cost sheets of their services or products.
It is not valid: That these organizations are not supervised or, at least trained, by superior organisms, in order that the resulting prices are not abusive for the population.
Okay: That different media, web pages, emails from agencies and organizations, among others, collect the opinions of the population, claims, complaints, etc.
It is not valid: That in the face of the population’s opinion on different aspects that may be affecting it, there is no response or follow-up to what has been proposed.
