In a Facebook put up, Comox Mayor Russ Arnott stated Edwards handed away Saturday night.

Edwards had 19 confirmed aerial victories throughout the struggle. He was Canada’s highest-scoring ace within the Western Desert campaign in North Africa.

On Twitter, the RCAF Foundation wrote it was saddened to study of his loss of life, giving its condolences to his household and crafting a thread detailing Edwards’ distinguished profession.
Edwards served 32 years with the air power, earlier than retiring to Comox on Vancouver Island, and was inducted in to Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame in 2013.
