“We waited another minute ( which seemed like forever) and then as things started to ease, a flashing light like a nuclear bomb, went off in the distance amid some of the most violent lightning bolts I’ve ever seen. Everyone ahead of me hit their brakes again.”

Rudder stated then items of timber started falling onto the roadway.

“Suddenly, things started to ease up and I, now a bit relaxed, followed the lead of the car in front onto the tree lined Harwood avenue. From the frying [pan] into the fire. Trees falling, branches scattered and scattering, the car in front of me driving around the debris, avoiding trees, while hoping that one more doesn’t fall.

“It’s like if you’re travelling past QRC roundabout heading towards Maraval as Savannah trees keep falling down across the roadway. All this in five minutes, then quiet.”

Rudder stated he was unhurt.
