The Academy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, at the Dolby Theater in Ovation Hollywood Los Angeles returns albeit under a different name: Ovation Hollywood. It will be the third time that Kimmel has presented the awards.
“Being invited to host the Oscars for the third time is either a great honor or a trap”Kimmel said in November of last year. “Either way, I’m grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after all the good guys said no.”
The ceremony is the 95 in organization history. Bill Kramer, executive director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, said: “All I will say at this point is that our anniversary, the 95th Oscars, is extremely important to us.
“I think it sets a really interesting pace for our 100th issue. You see this in the museum. I believe we can celebrate our legacy while taking the Academy into the future, and the program will reflect that.”
Oscar 2022 nominations not yet revealed
Academy Award winner Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams announce the Oscar nominees live on Tuesday, January 24 at 8:30 am ET (5:30 am PT). Good Morning America will show the nominations live.
Some nominations to look forward to are The Banshees of Inisherin for Best Picture, Brendan Fraser for Best Actor and Cate Blanchett for Best Actress.
Expectations are also high for the SS Rajamouli RRR, Rise Roar Revoltwhich caused a sensation at the Golden Globes and is expected to earn a Best Original Song nomination.
