WILLOW GLEN>>The Saratoga Symphony presents a free concert on January 22 featuring three works from the 19th century, including a concerto for clarinet featuring Bay Area resident Tina Tsai as soloist. The program also includes a 2013 symphony by a Bay Area composer. Director Dr. Jason Klein talks to the audience about each piece before it is performed.

ROSE GARDEN>>St. Leo the Great School is hosting an Open House on January 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., when families of preschoolers through eighth graders can meet the teachers, students, and families of St. I read. The school is located at 1051 W. San Fernando St. RSVP at https://stleosj.org.
Playful People Productions will hold auditions next month for the company’s spring productions of “Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids” and Barry Keating and Stuart Ross’ “Starmites.” Both shows will run at the Hoover Historic Theater at 1635 Park Ave. in May.
Nominated for six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, “Starmites” is for performers ages 11 and up. Directed by Lysander Abadia, the series follows Eleanor, a shy and quirky teenager who is transported to her favorite comics to join the battle for inner space. COVID vaccinations will be required to participate. Auditions are scheduled for February 18 and 19 and performances for May 12 and 21.
Children ages 4 to 11 will make up the cast of “The Jungle Book,” directed by Shannon Santandrea. Auditions are scheduled for February 27 and 28 and performances will be May 5 and 7.
