St. Cloud will host the first Bloody Mary Crawl in downtown this spring -

(KNSI) — A new event celebrating a popular cocktail party will debut this spring.

The first downtown Bloody Mary contest and crawl will be held on March 26 from 11:00 pm to 1:00 pm at various businesses and restaurants in St. Cloud.

Downtown Alliance Director of Planning and Development and St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce Tyler Bevier says they decided to hold the event because “Sunday brunch is often accompanied by a Bloody Mary or two or a mimosa. So this is one way to promote Sundays. [downtown]. It’s a pretty cool event that brings together the old restaurants and shops here in downtown St. Cloud.”

Bevier says there is already a lot of interest in the event, as 1,200 people have responded to the invite on Facebook, “So by being published [for] Less than a week, I’d say it’s pretty good.”

Attendees will vote for their favorites in a couple of categories that will be finalized by the end of February.

So far, five restaurants and two businesses have committed, with more to be added in the coming weeks.
