Jefferson County Public Schools will be holding immunization clinics at several schools where large numbers of students are not up to date on their measles immunizations. This comes after a measles outbreak in Ohio. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned local officials that the Louisville area is at risk of an outbreak. While MMR vaccinations are required in all Kentucky schools, more than 10,000 JCPS students are not immunized. One of the first clinics will be held Tuesday morning at Iroquois High School. Other clinics are planned in the coming weeks at Moore, Newcomer Academy and Fern Creek. A list of schools, clinic dates, and a consent form have been sent to parents.
