MARIETTA — Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action will host a Zoom program on local ecological restoration at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Two invited experts involved in the area will share information on ecological restoration.

Mark Krivchenia, who recently started a volunteer stewardship program at the Broughton Nature and Wildlife Education Area near Marietta, will explain the history, goals, and purposes of ecological restoration, as well as describe projects that have already are underway in the region.

Vic Elam, manager of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge through the US Fish and Wildlife Service, will describe the ongoing work on the refuge and his vision for the 22 islands spread over 362 miles. of the Ohio River through West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. , including Buckley, Middle, Muskingum, and Neale Islands in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
