BOX TRUCK ACCIDENT: One lane traffic expected around crash site until noon

Traffic is returning to normal after an accident with no injuries between Americus and Bushong early Tuesday morning.

A box truck ran off the road in the 2900 block of Road F and overturned, with the accident noted just before 5:30 a.m. The truck was carrying a variety of food items, which spilled onto both lanes of traffic.

It took about 90 minutes, but Lyon County deputies opened one lane of traffic to drivers around 7 a.m. A flagger is directing traffic right now, and this approach may be in effect until noon.

Tuesday at 6:30 am: Crash with no injuries blocking traffic on Highway F between Americus and Bushong

Traffic on part of Americus Road is diverting off the road after a no-injury crash was reported before dawn Tuesday.

A box truck ran off the road in the 2900 block of Road F and overturned, with the accident noted just before 5:30 a.m. The truck was carrying a variety of food items, which spilled onto both lanes of traffic.

Traffic is blocked from Highways 290 to 300. The official bypass sends traffic from Highway F west to Highway G.

Early indications indicate that it could be 7:30 am before traffic on Highway F can begin to return to normal flow.
